George Karas, the technical manager at Rhino Bar, is a seasoned expert with extensive experience in product development, fabrication, and delivering innovative towing solutions. With a deep understanding of towing systems technologies, he has developed towbar and bush guard solutions across a range of vehicle types and makes.
The Evolution of Rhino Bar
Founded in 1978, the company began its journey with a vision for innovation. After a trip to America in 1980, Rhino Bar took a significant step by introducing South Africa’s first bush guards for all makes of 4x4s and LDVs. This was done from a modest workshop on the East Rand.
As demand grew, Rhino Bar quickly outgrew its initial space and moved to a larger facility in Brakpan, Gauteng, where we continue to manufacture towbars, roll bars, bush guards, and various vehicle accessories — almost 50 years later.
In 2023, Rhino Bar expanded its footprint by opening a new factory in Vredenburg, Western Cape. From here, we manufacture and supply our extensive range of products to the entire Western Cape market.
For over 40 years, Rhino Bar has been a trusted supplier of towbars and bush guards to the Namibian market, solidifying our position as a reliable brand across Southern Africa.
